Pilipino Transfer Student Partnership aims to ease the transition of transfer students to life at UCLA and providing a space for student support during their Bruin lives. We seek to raise awareness about cultural and academic issues regarding the transfer experience by advocating the needs of transfer students and encouraging leadership and community responsibility.
Aside from weekly general body meetings, we offer several programs to serve our purpose. The Bayanihan Project works towards providing community college students greater accessibility to higher education through academic services and community building. The Kapatid Program serves to ease the stress of transitioning to UCLA by pairing incoming transfer students with current PTSP general body members as mentors. The Puno Internship is a six-week program offered every quarter that emphasizes leadership and community organizing within and outside of PTSP.
In addition, we hold many events throughout the year including our annual Welcome Reception, cook-offs, various socials and retreats, collaboration events with other organizations, and our end of the year banquet, PTSP Debut. All events give members new and old a chance to create and foster the bonds that make PTSP a family.
