Pilipino Transfer Student Partnership

Pilipino Transfer Student Partnership is an organization on campus that aims to ease the transition of Pilipino transfer students to life at UCLA.

 

VISION: Pilipino Transfer Student Partnership envisions a community that:

● Creates a strong, vibrant collective of transfer and transfer allies to encourage leadership and community involvement.

● Shares and promotes an appreciation of our culture as well as that of other communities.

● Achieves social, academic, and professional success.

● Remains aware about cultural and academic issues regarding the transfer experience at the University and Community College level.

● Promotes the accessibility of higher education to  Pilipino students.

● Works in solidarity with other entities in order to ensure the success of Pilipino transfer students.

MISSION: We, as the Pilipino Transfer Student Partnership, will:

● Ease the transition of transfer students by fostering a sense of community, personal growth, and a welcoming environment.

● Explore how Pilipino and other cultural identities impact the transfer experiences.

● Collaborate with SPEAR to ensure the retention and holistic development of transfer students.

● Encourage involvement and dialogue among current transfers, incoming transfers, community college students, and transfer allies to advocate 
for transfer issues through approaches such as the Bayanihan Project.

● Actively collaborate with SPACE in order to ensure that SPACE addresses specific transfer issues.
