PTSP Welcome Reception
PTSP Welcome Reception is our first big event of the school year! It's a chance for new incoming transfers to see what our club is about by mingling with current members, board members, and alumni. PTSP Board will be serving you FREE food while you enjoy yourselves with games, icebreakers, performances, and more!
Winter and Spring Retreat
Retreat is a chance to getaway from all the stress and schoolwork, all while have some fun times with PTSP! Winter Retreat is usually at Big Bear which means you'll get to stay in a cozy cabin before heading out for some snowboarding and general fun in the winter wonderland. Spring Retreat at Oxnard is considerably warmer but still has all the fun, games, and bonding activities as winter. There will be a fee to attend these retreats but they're never above $45 and can even be reduced if you offer to drive, so don't miss out!
Kapatid Cook-Offs
Each quarter, the kapatid pairs compete in Cook-Off for kapapoints and to see who the best cooks in PTSP are. Pairs can bring in a homecooked meal of their choice (extra points if it's a Filipino dish or has a Filipino ingredient), big enough to feed at least 20 people and while everyone else mingles and socializes amongst the food, they can vote on who cooked the best dish. People without kaptids are still able to enter the competition and anyone who doesn't cook is still able to attend, albeit with a $5 fee.
Kapamilya Events, Kapatitions, and Socials
Kapamilya Events are a collaboration between PTSP, SPACE (Samahang Pilipino Advancing Community Empowerment) and El Camino's Pilipino Community to create a fun-filled day that allows people from each organization to get to know each other better, as well as increase and enhance the connections between one another. Activities throughout the academic year include ice skating, hiking, and relaxing by the beach bonfire. It's through these events that we can emphasize the Partnership part of PTSP!
PTSP Debut
Just as PTSP Welcome Reception is the first big event of the academic school year, PTSP Debut is the last big send-off to the outgoing board and graduating seniors, as well as a celebreation of the past year. Incoming PTSP Board will be serving free dinner on the hill as Annual Awards are handed out and we take a look back at all the memorable moments we've had as an organization. Come through for some fun times and to see the outgoing board pass the torch, or rather, candle to incoming board!
